Behind the Final Cut: Airline Ads

"Behind the Final Cut: Airline Ads" By Vipul Sharma | Lakhdatar Visuals, Jaipur People often think AI videos are made in minutes with a quick prompt and a click. The truth is very different. I recently made a 20-second cinematic airline-style brand film using only AI tools: image and video generation, Arabic voice-over, original music, sound design, and professional editing. Although the final film is short, the planning, testing, and revisions behind it were extensive. Research came first My aim was a premium, international airline commercial that could match the emotional and visual quality of top aviation brands. Before generating any images, I studied real airline ads, aircraft photography, storytelling structures, camera angles, color grading, and the emotional flow of similar films. Every scene was planned on paper: Concept and narrative arc Shot list and scene breakdown Destinations shown Voice-over script in Arabic Music direction and mood Final logo reveal This planning stage is the same as traditional film production — AI doesn’t remove the need for it. AI is a tool, not the director AI tools don’t automatically deliver perfect results. Creative choices still come from the artist. I generated dozens of images and rejected many. Problems included unrealistic aircraft proportions, odd reflections, inconsistent lighting, or an overly “AI” look. Some technically good images were discarded because they didn’t feel authentic for a luxury brand. Often one shot took 10–15 attempts to reach the desired quality. That’s similar to traditional photography, where you shoot many frames to pick the best ones. Keeping everything consistent One good AI image is easy; 22 images that belong to the same film are hard. Each shot needed consistent: Lighting (golden hour tones, soft haze) Mood (aspirational, calm, premium) Camera feel (wide-angle cinematic lenses) Color grading (warm, desaturated luxury palette) Aircraft branding (same livery and identity) Story continuity (shots leading into each other) The aircraft and locations had to feel part of one coherent world. That required constant comparison, iteration, and rejecting frames that broke the visual language. Sound and music bring emotion Visuals grab attention; sound creates feeling. I wrote and recorded the voice-over in Arabic to give a Gulf airline tone. The script went through multiple revisions to match the film’s pacing. Music was composed to follow the emotional arc: quiet anticipation, build during flight, and a confident arrival. Sound design added subtle plane ambience, wind textures, and engine hums so the viewer felt inside the scene. Audio and visuals were mixed together until the 20 seconds felt complete and natural. Editing makes it a film The edit is where everything comes together. I animated each generated image with subtle camera moves and atmospheric motion to create a sense of flight. Cuts were timed to the music and emotional beats. A global color grade unified all shots, even though they were generated separately. The logo reveal was designed to feel earned — not an afterthought. What it actually takes Producing 20 seconds of premium AI-generated film involved: Hours of research and planning Dozens of image generation attempts Careful selection and rejection of frames Video generation and animation of stills Arabic voice-over scripting and recording Original music composition Multi-layer sound design Color grading and visual consistency work Professional editing and timing This is real production work — not “prompt and click.” Why brands should care For aviation, hospitality, luxury, and D2C brands, AI-accelerated film opens access to cinematic-quality content at a fraction of traditional cost and time. No location shoots, no chartered planes, no large crew. But the creative direction and quality control must come from humans who understand filmmaking and brand identity.
